The ‘Drop It Like It’s Hot’ rapper has led the celebrations after Proposition 64 was approved by voters, legalising the substance in the US state, as well as Massachusetts, North Dakota, Arkansas and Nevada.
Taking to Twitter, he wrote: “We just legalized marijuana in Cali. #smokeweedeveryday. (sic)”
Seth MacFarlane also joined in and said in light of the news that Donald Trump was elected as the president of America, at least marijuana has been made legal for recreational use.
The ‘Family Guy’ creator wrote: “At least pot’s legal. (sic)”
Snoop, 43, has been open about his personal drug use in the past and is a keen advocate of cannabis, which he is legally allowed to use to treat migraines in California.
And in 2013, Snoop confessed to smoking up to 80 cannabis blunts per day, adding he would “love” to show his kids Cordé, 22, Cordell, 19 and Cori, 17, how to smoke the substance “the right way”.
He said: “It’s not that I would ever push weed on our kids. But if they wanted to, I would love to show them how, the right way, so that way they won’t get nothing put in their shit or overdose or trying some shit that ain’t clean.”
Last year, Snoop – whose real name is Cordozar Calvin Broadus, Jr – launched his own line of Cannabis-related products called Leafs.
Snoop insists he carefully selected the collection, which includes cannabis-infused foods, hand-weighed marijuana flowers and hash oils.

At the time, he said: “It’s a true blessing that I can share the products I love so much with y’all today. From the flower, to the concentrates, and edibles – it’s all hand-picked by yours truly so you know it’s the hottest product out there. It’s the real deal and you gotta get out to Colorado to try it first!”

'Impeach Donald Trump' Petitions Gather Thousands Of Signatures After Presidential Election

Republican Donald Trump was only just elected to be the next president of the United States, but some Americans are already calling for his impeachment. Thousands of people are supporting online petitions demanding Trump be impeached before he reaches or immediately after he takes the Oval Office.

The most popular so far is on change.org, where more than 17,000 users have signed a petition simply titled "Impeach Donald J. Trump." The page was launched Wednesday and is one of 419 change.org petitions that mention the new president-elect.

"It is clear something is wrong here if an openly homophobic, racist, xenophobic and sexist individual can become the most powerful man in the world," it reads. "Make it clear you do not want this man leading our free nation."

The controversial billionaire is also the subject of a White House petition signed by nearly 10,000 people and a MoveOn.org petition with 3,000 supporters, among others.
Petitions aside, it's unclear whether Trump could actually face impeachment.
The precedent for the process is laid out in the U.S. Constitution. It reads,

"The President, Vice President and all Civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors," according to the House's history, art and archives webpage.

Only two presidents have ever been impeached: Bill Clinton, in 1998, and Andrew Johnson, in 1868. Neither were actually removed.
Both presidents, as is typical, were impeached in connection with offenses that occurred while they were in office. The various fraud and sexual assault accusations against Trump concern incidents from before the election, which means there's some disagreement among experts about whether he could legally be charged.
Bill Blum, a retired judge who writes for Truth Dig, said there may be a precedent. In an article about Democrat Hillary Clinton, Blum pointed to a 2010 case in which a federal judge, G. Thomas Porteous, was convicted for financial corruption that started when he was a state court judge three decades earlier.
Meanwhile, University of Utah professor Christopher Lewis Peterson wrote in an essay that Trump could be impeached in connection with Trump University, a real estate education program that New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has alleged relied on false advertising.

"Trump has on several occasions promised to commit impeachable crimes as a matter of executive policy," Peterson wrote. "As controversial as these actions — both of which are likely high crimes or misdemeanors — may be, they bear at least one important distinction with the controversy over Trump University. Unlike his promised crimes yet to come, the illegal acts in Trump’s high pressure wealth seminars have already occurred."

Finally, even if Trump were charged, Congress might not vote him out. The House of Representatives has the power to impeach, but the Senate has to try all impeachments.

facebook banned from using UK user whatsapp information

A week after Germany banned Facebook's collection and storage of WhatsApp users’ data, the company has agreed to suspend using U.K. WhatsApp users' information for advertisements and product improvement purposes.

“I don’t think users have been given enough information about what Facebook plans to do with their information, and I don’t think WhatsApp has got valid consent from users to share the information. I also believe users should be given ongoing control over how their information is used, not just a 30 day window,” U.K. Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham posted on the official blog of the organization.

Facebook’s usage of WhatsApp users’ data has come under scrutiny since August, when the company announced that WhatsApp will share information, including user phone numbers for targeted marketing and business usage.

The U.K. Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) initiated an inquiry into the data usage in September and it seems that the government organization has finally pressured Facebook into suspending data collection in the country. Furthermore, ICO has asked Facebook and WhatsApp to sign an undertaking explaining how the companies will collect data and provide users “ongoing control” over what is shared.

While Aramide won Best Female Artist Western Africa beating Tiwa Savage and Yemi Alade, Phyno emerged winner of African Fans Favorite award. Rising dance hall singer, Patoranking went home with Best Artist/Duo/Group African Ragga & Dancehall award.

Another big winner on the night was Tanzanian bongo star, Diamond Platnumz who scooped two awards (Best Male East Africa and Song of the Year- Utanipenda).

Mourinho’s skills under scrutiny

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho’s man-management skills are under scrutiny after he appeared to publicly accuse defenders Luke Shaw and Chris Smalling of malingering.

Whilst not mentioning either player by name, Mourinho expressed unhappiness after the pair missed United’s 3-1 win at Swansea City on Sunday, suggesting they had shown a lack of bravery.

Some British newspapers reported on Tuesday that Shaw and Smalling were now “fighting for their futures” at Old Trafford.

Left-back Shaw, 21, was said to be “baffled” over his treatment by Mourinho, who succeeded Louis van Gaal as United manager in May.

The England international recently spent 11 months on the sidelines after sustaining a horrific double leg fracture in a Champions League game at PSV Eindhoven in September last year.

He has been in and out of the team since making his first-team comeback in August and is reported to have felt pain in the leg he broke during last Thursday’s Europa League defeat at Fenerbahce.

Mourinho said Shaw had informed him he was unable to play against Swansea on the morning of the game.

But the former Southampton player is not thought to have travelled down to south Wales with the rest of the squad on the eve of the match.

Mourinho also singled Shaw out for criticism following United’s 3-1 defeat at Watford in September, after which it emerged the full-back had been playing with a groin problem.

“Our left-back is 25 metres’ distance from him, instead of five,” Mourinho said after Shaw failed to close down Nordin Amrabat in the build-up to Watford’s second goal.

Smalling, 26, has tended to start for Mourinho when fit, but the Portuguese appears to have lost patience with the England centre-back, who has missed four games with a foot injury.

Both Shaw and Smalling are thought to have played with pain-killing injections already this season and interim England manager Gareth Southgate has defended them against accusations they lack heart.

– ‘Pouring with blood’ –

Asked if the pair are “a bit flaky”, Southgate told reporters at England’s St George’s Park training base: “I don’t know Chris well. That wouldn’t be my impression, having worked with him.

“Luke I know well and Luke’s had a really tough injury. Very often it’s easy to look from the outside or make judgements on people without knowing them really, really well.”

Shaw and Smalling were both left out of Southgate’s squad for England’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland on Friday and next week’s friendly with Spain.

The Sun reported United’s senior players have accepted Mourinho’s hardline stance over Shaw and Smalling.

Mourinho was hired to restore some of United’s fading lustre after three seasons of underachievement under David Moyes and Van Gaal.

He notoriously thrives on conflict and is renowned for publicly rebuking players to test their mental fortitude.

It was an approach that worked wonders in his first spell at Chelsea, where players like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba became unflinching allies.

Terry, who remains at Chelsea, is known for putting his body on the line and said in 2010 that he been taking anti-inflammatory injections prior to games for five years.

Recalling an injury he sustained during a match against United in April 2006 that left his ankle “pouring with blood”, he told the Daily Mail Mourinho “wouldn’t even look at me”.

But there is a feeling Mourinho’s methods are not as effective on the younger, more mollycoddled generation of players he has encountered in his second spell at Chelsea and now at United.

Belgium internationals Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku both failed to win Mourinho’s trust at Chelsea, but are now thriving elsewhere — De Bruyne at Manchester City, Lukaku at Everton.

With United a lowly sixth in the Premier League table, eight points adrift of leaders and arch rivals Liverpool, the club’s fans must hope Mourinho’s formula has not passed its sell-by date.

Italy Earthquakes God’s Punishment For Gay Marriage, Catholic Priest Says

An Italian priest refused to back down after his comments blaming the recent devastating earthquakes on gay civil unions invited the ire of several people, including a top Vatican official. Rev. Giovanni Cavalcoli first made these comments a day after Italy witnessed its most powerful earthquake in about 36 years.
Speaking to Radio Maria last week, Cavalcoli said the earthquakes were “divine punishment” for “the offence to the family and the dignity of marriage, in particular through civil unions.” Italy, which was one of the last countries in Europe to legalize gay marriage, allowed gay civil unions in October.
The radio station distanced itself from the hardliner’s views, calling his comments “unacceptable” and suspending him from airing his monthly show on the station. The Vatican said the idea that God sought revenge is a “pagan vision” dating from “the pre-Christian era.”
The author of the statement, Archbishop Angelo Becciu, is the assistant secretariat of state in Vatican City. He said Cavalcoli’s comments were “offensive to believers and disgraceful for non-believers.”
He also apologized to the victims of the earthquakes adding that they had the “solidarity and support” of Pope Francis.
In another interview, Cavalcoli reiterated that the earthquakes, which left hundreds dead and thousands homeless, were a result of “human sins, such as civil unions.” He also advised the Vatican to “go over their catechism.”
Cavalcoli isn’t the first to claim the earthquakes were divine punishment. Israeli Deputy Foreign Minister Ayoub Kara said last week that the quakes were divine punishment for Italy’s abstention on a Unesco resolution about the status of Jerusalem’s holy sites.

“I am sure that the earthquake happened because of Unesco’s decision that the pope really didn’t love; and (he) even publicly expressed that the Holy Land belongs to the Jewish people,” Ayoub said.

Italy has been rattled by three major tremors in recent weeks and scientists have warned that the region just north of Rome could face several more quakes.

“Given what we have discovered about these three related earthquakes, there is a real chance that there is going to be another significant quake in the region in the very near future,” Richard Walters, a lecturer in earth science at Durham University, reportedly said. “We know there is a real risk of another quake, but cannot say exactly where it will strike – or when.”

Just over a month after it achieved the closest separation ever of any multispacecraft formation, NASA’s Magnetospheric Multiscale (MMS) mission has broken a new record. The mission now holds the Guinness World Record for the highest altitude fix of a GPS signal.
The four MMS spacecraft, which are currently locked in a highly elliptical orbit around Earth to study the planet’s magnetosphere, set the record at an altitude of 43,500 miles, NASA said in a
statement released Thursday.

“The four MMS spacecraft incorporate GPS measurements into their precise tracking systems, which require extremely sensitive position and orbit calculations to guide tight flying formations,” the space agency said, adding that precise GPS tracking allows the satellites to maintain a tight formation needed for high resolution three-dimensional observations.

The MMS mission began with the launch of four identical satellites on March 12, 2015. The primary goal of the mission is to investigate a scarcely understood phenomenon called magnetic reconnection, which can link the sun’s magnetic field lines to Earth’s, funneling material and energy from the sun into Earth’s magnetic environment.
Scientists believe magnetic reconnection is one of the key ways material is energized in space, and it plays a crucial role in the creation of auroras on Earth, flares on the surface of the sun, and even in processes taking place in the vicinity of black holes and neutron stars.
In September, the four MMS spacecraft began flying at a distance of just four-and-a-half miles apart — the closest separation ever achieved in any multispacecraft mission.

“The four MMS spacecraft fly in a pyramid shape, with one satellite marking each corner. This shape, called a tetrahedron, allows MMS to capture three-dimensional observations of magnetic reconnection – critical for fully understanding this process,” NASA said in a statement released at the time.

Black Lives Matter: Twitter Slams Lil Wayne After He Says Movement Has Nothing To Do With Him

Lil Wayne’s thoughts on social issues has landed him in hot water once again.

During a recent interview with ABC’s “Nightline,” the rapper was asked about the Black Lives Matter movement to which he replied, “What is it? What do you mean? That just sounds weird.” After being told what it was, Weezy said a movement such as that doesn’t need a name.

When asked if he felt any connection to the cause, Lil Wayne said he did not because it has nothing to do with him. “If you [feel connected], you crazy as s---. You. Not the camera. You. Feeling connected to something that ain’t got nothing to do with you? If it ain’t got nothing to do with me, I ain’t connected to it.”

The rapper’s comments quickly led to backlash on Twitter, with many users calling him out and asking for him to stop reacting to issues affecting society.

In a September interview with Fox Sports 1’s “Undisputed,” the rapper said racism has never affected his life. “I have never, and never is a strong word, never dealt with racism, and I’m glad I didn’t have to. I don’t know if it’s because of my blessings but it is my reality,” he said.

Lil Wayne’s most recent comments are different from his statements at an August concert where he led a “Black Lives Matter” chant and told the crowd, “We are black America… Black lives matter!”

Instagram Shopping Feature: Company To Test Product Placements From Next Week

Instagram announced Tuesday that it will be testing an in-app shopping feature starting next week.

"With this seamless shopping experience launching on Instagram, the possibilities for selling our products are endless,” Mary Beech, executive vice president and chief marketing officer, Kate Spade & company, said in Instagram's official blogpost. Kate Spade is one of the 20 U.S.-based retail brands that will be part of the testing.

Instead of taking the audience straight to e-commerce portals from posts, Instagram will partner with brands to create posts with more depth and easier access. Each post will have a tap-to-view icon at the bottom left. Once customers tap on the icon, a tag would appear on various products in the post, showcasing up to 5 products and their prices. Once the tag is selected, a detailed preview of the product will open.
To make a purchase, a consumer can tap on the "shop now" link from the product details view. Only then, the consumer will be redirected to an affiliated business website. The feature is aimed at providing the consumer the ease of viewing a range of products without having to traverse through different websites/apps.
Consumer research will be the first step of the test, during which the new features will be available to a select group of iOS users in the U.S.
Once the feature is rolled out for the general public, it is expected to feature product recommendations, different ways of showcasing products to shoppers and the ability to save content so Instagrammers can take action later. The company also announced global expansion of the feature but hasn't revealed any dates or timeframe for the same.
